Shocking cellphone footage shows a Mercedes driver in California slapping an autistic child who touched the hood ornament of his car. 10-year-old Alfredo Morales was crossing the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Osbourne Avenue in the Pacoima neighborhood of Los Angeles with his sister on July 1st. According to KTLA, as the siblings were heading to the bus stop, Alfredo touched the emblem of a luxury Mercedes-Benz that was stopped at a red light. SLAPPED THE CHILD IN FRONT OF HIS SISTERThis innocent gesture angered the driver, who immediately turned around and attacked the siblings sitting on a bench at the bus stop. In the video, the sister can be heard saying in Spanish, "I'm sorry, he's autistic, he has special needs," as she tries to create a barrier between the driver and her brother. However, this effort was not enough, and the driver slapped Alfredo in the face. The cellphone footage shows the unidentified driver getting out of his car after slapping the child, examining the emblem, moving it, and then walking away. FAMILY SEEKS JUSTICEAlfredo's parents expressed their anger over the incident, stating that their son, who has autism, has a need to explore his surroundings by touching them. Miguel Morales, Alfredo's father, is seeking justice for his son and waiting for answers.
