Three individuals, including one doctor, were arrested for demanding a "knife money" (a form of bribe) from the relatives of patients at Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into the hospital.
Three suspects, including a doctor, a secretary, and a person involved in medical work, were arrested on the allegation of receiving "knife money" from patients who were to undergo surgery in Diyarbakır. Following complaints from some patients that they were asked for money for personal accounts before and after the surgery, an investigation was initiated against Dr. Ç.Y., secretary L.B., and M.J.E., who works in the medical field, by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
THEY WERE ARRESTED
As part of the investigation, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime Division detained the three suspects. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested by the duty magistrate on charges of "embezzlement by means of coercion."
