Following a fight that broke out between families yesterday evening over the issue of 'bride asking' in Diyarbakır, a armed attack was carried out on a house today around noon. In the incident, a 22-year-old woman named İsmet Barçin lost her life, and a 10-year-old child was seriously injured. A total of 14 suspects have been detained in connection with the incident.

BRIDE ASKING FIGHT ENDED WITH ARMED ATTACK
According to reports, a fight involving kicks, punches, and sticks broke out last night among members of the same family in the rural Güleçoba neighborhood of the Kayapınar district due to a 'bride asking' issue. Two people were injured in the incident, and 4 suspects detained by the gendarmerie were arrested by the court they were brought to in the morning and sent to prison.
1 WOMAN DEAD, 10-YEAR-OLD CHILD SERIOUSLY INJURED
After the incident, gunfire was opened at one of the parties' houses with handguns and long-barreled weapons during the afternoon. Ismet Barçin, a woman who was hit by the bullets while praying, lost her life, and her nephew, a child named J.B., was injured. The injured child was taken to Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital after the first intervention.
14 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
While it was reported that the injured child's life was still in danger, the Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) conducted an operation in which 14 suspects related to the incident were captured and detained. During searches conducted with the permission of the Public Prosecutor's Office, 1 handgun, 1 shotgun, and a large number of cartridges were seized from 3 vehicles. The suspects' processing at the gendarmerie is ongoing.
