Members of the foundation, who were in the city for the program that Furkan Movement leader Alparslan Kuytul was to hold on Friday, wanted to march without permission. The municipal police teams, aware of the march, informed that they would not allow it due to the lack of authorization. A dispute occurred between the members of the Furkan Movement and the municipal police.
"CITIZENS COMPLAINED"
In a statement made to Haberler.com by the Elazığ Municipality's Municipal Police Department regarding the issue, it was reported that the conference in question was held without permission, and that no authorization was obtained from either the municipality or the governorship for the poster and banner activities. It was noted that the unauthorized banners were hung in parks, gardens, intersections, and overpasses in a way that would create visual pollution in the city, and it was learned that many citizens complained to the municipality about the situation, expressing that the residents of Elazığ were disturbed by it.
THERE ARE ARRESTS
It was reported that the unauthorized banner removal operation was carried out in cooperation with the police, and that some individuals who obstructed the municipal teams and attempted to assault were taken into custody by the police. It was stated that the issue of Jerusalem was being exploited to hold unauthorized meetings. It was also added that the banner removal operations would continue.
