The incident occurred around 03:30 yesterday in the Telsizler neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the 4-story building, which was handed over to the contractor for urban transformation, was evacuated about 1 month ago. A fire broke out on the ground floor of the building, which was expected to be demolished and was open around. The flames quickly engulfed the ground floor, and nearby residents saw the fire. Fire department teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Meanwhile, the person who reported the fire tried to wake up the residents by whistling and shouting.

Due to the possibility of the flames spreading to nearby buildings and parked vehicles, the person who reported the fire shouted for a long time, "There's a fire, come down." The person trying to warn the residents also whistled. While the fire continued, the neighborhood residents came to the whistling person's side. The residents continued to shout, "Do you know the owners of these vehicles?" to prevent the parked vehicles in front of the burning building from being damaged. Time was racing to prevent the fire from spreading to the parked vehicles in front of the building. Shortly after, the fire department teams arrived at the scene and intervened in the flames. Upon inspection, it was learned that chairs, tables, and boards inside had burned. There were no casualties or injuries in the fire, but the building was damaged. The fire department teams took notes and left the scene. The police launched an investigation into the incident.

The damage caused by the fire in the building was captured during the day. Speaking about the incident, the owner Talat Ünal said, "Last night we received a phone call. We were not aware at all. They came from there, there must have been a fight with the neighborhood youth or something like that. After that, they came. After a discussion among them, they left. The last time was around 03:15 or 03:30, they must have poured thinner or gasoline. Then they started to set this place on fire. They were saying either thinner or gasoline. They were saying there were cans on the ground. Honestly, I don't know, the building is not theirs. It's not the building of the person they fought with either; the building is ours. The building is empty, we evacuated it. We handed it over to the contractor, and we are waiting for urban transformation. It should normally be demolished this week. The burned items here were small boards and such. There were chairs and doors. That's all, there was nothing else," he said.
