THE COUNTRY IS DIVIDED IN TWO
Since the overthrow and killing of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya's governance has been divided into east and west. In the west, Abdulhamid Dibeybe serves as the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), recognized by the United Nations (UN), while the east is governed by "Prime Minister" Ossama Hamad.
