The incident occurred around 14:00 on Şehit Nuri Street in the Sakarya neighborhood of Alaşehir. According to the information obtained, Süreyya Köken shot his wife Kadriye Köken (40) in the head with a shotgun in the middle of the street during their divorce process. The woman was seriously injured, while the suspect fled the scene.

It was learned that Kadriye Köken had recently obtained a restraining order against her husband Süreyya Köken. The suspect, who fled the scene after the incident, was quickly apprehended and taken into custody by the police.
It was reported that the suspect Süreyya Köken worked in pastry shops, while Kadriye Köken, a mother of three, worked in daily jobs.
