LOSS OF SPIRITUAL VALUES AND THE EFFECT OF URBANIZATIONIn a street interview conducted in Bursa, the question "Why did neighborhood relationships end?" was frequently answered by stating that spiritual values have weakened and urbanization has damaged neighborly ties. The responses given to our microphones emphasized that solidarity and mutual assistance among neighbors used to be common in the past, but these relationships have weakened due to the busy nature of modern life and material concerns. It was also mentioned that apartment living has led to anonymity, with people not knowing each other despite living in the same building. It was stated that urbanization has led to increased individualism, resulting in the loss of the old neighborhood culture. THE EFFECT OF TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL MEDIAParticipants in the interview also mentioned that technology and social media play an important role in the weakening of neighborhood relationships. With the widespread use of mobile phones, face-to-face communication has decreased and a sense of coldness has emerged among people. It was commonly believed that people no longer have time for their neighbors due to social media addiction, which negatively affects neighborly ties. In addition, economic difficulties have reduced the habit of hosting guests and neighbors have distanced themselves from each other due to issues such as noise or disturbances.
