The Syrian interim government has initiated efforts to remove content praising the deposed Bashar al-Assad regime from the education curriculum.

According to the Syrian News Agency (SANA), the new Minister of Education in Syria, Nazir al-Qadri, made a statement regarding the changes made to the curriculum implemented in schools.

REVOLUTIONARY FLAG WILL BE INCLUDED IN TEXTBOOKS

Qadri stated that they have instructed the removal of content praising the deposed Assad regime from the curriculum, saying, "We have used visuals of the revolutionary flag instead of the regime's flag in all textbooks."

EDUCATION MINISTER ALSO MADE A STATEMENT

Education Minister Qadri noted that the curriculum will remain in its current form until the necessary adjustments are made, stating, "The announced changes only concern the correction of some misinformation used by the Assad regime in the Islamic Education curriculum. For example, instead of misinterpreting certain Quranic verses, we based our explanations on the correct interpretations as stated in the tafsir books at all educational levels," he said.
