After the fire in the Dilovası district of Kocaeli, which resulted in the death of 7 people, the responsible manager of the occupational health and safety firm was arrested.
In Kocaeli's Dilovası district, the responsible manager of the Joint Health and Safety Unit (OSGB) has been arrested in connection with the fire at a cosmetics factory that resulted in the deaths of 7 people and injuries to 6 others.
According to the expert report prepared within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Gebze Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that Küresel OSGB did not effectively carry out occupational health and safety services on-site.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER ARRESTED
The responsible manager of the occupational health and safety firm, Ü.A., who was deemed to have responsibility, was taken into custody.
After the procedures at the police station, the suspect was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the on-duty judge.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In a cosmetics factory located in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of Dilovası, a fire broke out on November 8, resulting in the deaths of Tuğba Taşdemir (17), her cousin Nisanur Taşdemir (15), Cansu Esetoğlu (15), Hanım Gülek (52), Esma Gikan (31), and Şengül Yılmaz (59), while 7 others were injured.
Tuncay Yıldız, who was taken to Kocaeli City Hospital, could not be saved despite the interventions in the intensive care unit.
Within the scope of the investigation initiated regarding the incident, 7 out of 11 suspects, including the owners of the workplace, have been arrested. Additionally, Dilovası Deputy Mayor N.T., Zoning Director N.B., and municipal police personnel C.T., Ö.K., and T.İ. have been suspended from their duties. Kurtuluş O., one of the factory owners who suffered a heart attack in the prison where he was held, passed away in the hospital to which he was taken.
