The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to expose counterfeit and adulterated products that threaten public health. With its newly published list, the ministry shared inappropriate products and their manufacturers with the public. In this context, many new companies and products have been included in the list. It was also noted that the famous restaurant chain Tavuk Dünyası is mentioned in the list.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to expose those who produce counterfeit, adulterated, and health-threatening foods. The ministry has added new products and companies to the list of fraudulent products. In the information note regarding the list of Foods Subject to Imitation or Adulteration, it was noted that during inspections conducted on May 15, 2023, it was found that tomato was present in the red pepper products at a branch of Umur Basım Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi (Tavuk Dünyası) located in Istanbul.
FRAUD IN MEAT AND OLIVE OIL IS AT ITS PEAK
In the latest list published by the ministry, olive oil, which has been frequently mentioned in fraud news, again took up a large space on the list. It was determined that seed oils were mixed into the olive oils sold across Turkey. Even more interestingly, other oils unrelated to olives were also added to the olive oils.
The food fraud that most disturbs citizens is primarily red meat. It was observed that poultry meat and offal were mixed into red meat.
THEY LEFT NO FAT IN BUTTER AND CHEESE
Cheese and butter sold by many famous brands are also frequently subject to food fraud. In the ministry's latest list, it was determined that the fat content in these two product groups was low. The fat content of the cheeses was found to be lower than what was written on the packages, while foreign substances were found mixed into the butters.
