A probe has been launched against those who promote 'illegal gambling', and arrest warrants have been issued for 6 more individuals.
As part of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the promotion of illegal gambling sites, 16 people were detained, including singer Serdar Ortaç, presenter Mehmet Ali Erbil, and social media influencer İbrahim Yılmaz, who has approximately 19 million followers. While Erbil and Ortaç were released under 'house arrest', 12 individuals, including İbrahim Yılmaz, were arrested.
ARREST WARRANTS FOR 6 SUSPECTS
During the operation conducted as part of the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for social media influencers Aydoğan Duru, Ramiz Nurçin, Umut Karahan, and Batuhan Kesgin, who were found to be abroad. By court order, their social media accounts were also closed.
Additionally, it was requested to issue arrest warrants for Cenk Pekkan and Ünal Orhan, who took Mehmet Ali Erbil and Serdar Ortaç to Malta and appeared together in a promotional video. It was learned that Pekkan and Orhan are abroad.
ACCOUNTS CLOSED
As part of the investigation, the social media accounts of previously arrested social media influencers Muzaffer Zorbey Erkoçlar and Yağmur Şifa Yaprak, as well as Doğukan Demirtaş, who was placed under judicial control, were also closed.
