In his closing speech at the 32nd Consultation and Evaluation Meeting of the AK Party held in Kızılcahamam, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan responded to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's remarks about 'ummah.' Erdoğan stated, "Why would the child of this country be disturbed by the embrace of Turks, Kurds, and Arabs? He has come out accusing us of being sectarian. Since when has defending the unity of the ummah become a crime?"
President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered the closing speech of his party's 32nd Consultation and Evaluation Meeting in Kızılcahamam.
RESPONSE TO CHP LEADER ÖZEL'S 'UMMET' STATEMENT
Providing important messages regarding the 'Terror-free Turkey' process, President Erdoğan responded to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who stated, "There will be a consciousness of ummah, not citizenship, among Kurds, Turks, and Arabs. A new alliance will be formed based on Sunni Islam, and they think they will proceed with a new alliance through this. We will stand where we need to as the Republican People's Party, but we will not allow you to hold us accountable in this geography through ummah, sectarianism, or religious politics."
"THE ACTORS ARE DIFFERENT BUT THE GAME IS THE SAME"
Erdoğan stated: "We are facing a new scenario. We cannot see irresponsible and unconscious political discourses as independent from what we have experienced in the last 23 years. This time the actors are different, but the game is the same. We have watched this theater many times. We know their goals, methods, and actors very well. The cards are being reshuffled in the world. Not only the climate of hope but also our country's strategic moves are being attempted to be undermined. There is an attempt to harm our economy with a boycott list against the national economy. This is why we do not take the caricature figure at the head of the CHP and all their struggles seriously. We are aware of who we are fighting against. Our interlocutors are not puppets, but the puppeteers who manipulate them as they wish.
"SINCE WHEN HAS DEFENDING THE UNITY OF THE UMMAH BEEN A CRIME?"
Why would our brotherhood manifesto from yesterday disturb anyone? Why would the child of this country be disturbed by the embrace of Turks, Kurds, and Arabs? They accuse us of ummah-ism. Since when has defending the unity of the ummah been a crime? No matter what they do, they will not succeed; they will not turn us back from our blessed journey. They will not be able to prevent our nation from breaking free from the shackles of terror.
