200 PEOPLE ON THE FERRY EVACUATED

It has been learned that the teams will carry out the evacuation process on the ferry, which has 200 passengers. Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu reported that the engine room of the ferry was filled with smoke, but there was no situation that spread outside.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR OF BALIKESİR

Ustaoğlu stated, "We will evacuate the passengers; the ship has stopped. Our Coast Guard teams have arrived at the scene. For now, there is no situation that poses a danger." He noted that they would ensure the evacuation of the passengers with ferries that arrive in the area.

Governor Ustaoğlu said, "There is no dangerous situation. It is a ferry in transit from Marmara Island to Tekirdağ. There are no flames in the engine room, but there is dense smoke. They cannot enter because it might ignite again upon contact with oxygen. It is currently closed."
