In the Newborn Gang case, a WhatsApp conversation was questioned, and the response shocked everyone.

The trial of the 47 defendants of the Newborn Gang, which has burned the heart of Turkey, continues on its 11th day. In the hearing held in the conference hall of the courthouse by the Bakırköy 22nd High Criminal Court, the defendant Mehmet Gürül, a doctor from TRG Hospitalist Hospital, who is not in custody, stated that he works for a fixed salary and is not a member of any organization.

"WE BOUGHT A HOUSE WITH FIRAT SARI"

Gürül, stating that the entire 125 thousand lira salary is provided by the hospital, said, "We bought a house together with Fırat Sarı. I had 500 thousand lira. I borrowed 500 thousand. That's how we bought it. I had no idea that drugs were being sold. I was shocked when I first heard that drugs were being sold. I learned that it was Hasan Basri and Hakan Doğukan who did it. Later, when Hasan came to my hospital, I confronted him as well. It's even in the tapes." he said.

"THERE ARE FILE DEFICIENCIES IN THE HOSPITAL"

Gürül explained that these drugs were not purchased from the Social Security Institution (SGK) but were supplied from the manufacturing company, stating, "The drugs are kept in the refrigerator. They are taken as much as necessary upon the physician's recommendation when needed. After the drug is used, the drug box is placed in the patient's file. This is what is called drug drop." He claimed that his only crime in this case was to hide the external observers from the inspectors, stating that there are file deficiencies in the hospital, that the external observers took good care of the patients, and that they took them outside so that the hospital would not be harmed when the inspectors came.

"WE WERE TALKING ABOUT OBSCENE THINGS"

Gürül shocked everyone with his response to a question asked by the Presiding Judge. According to journalist Rojda Altıntaş, in response to the Presiding Judge's question, "Why do you say let's talk on WhatsApp when talking to Fırat Sarı?" Gürül replied, "At some point in the conversation, we start talking about obscene things outside of work. The phone doesn't have good reception." Gürül's answer caused astonishment in the courtroom.
