In the corruption investigation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, 8 suspects, including İBB Sports Club President Fatih Keleş, İBB Chief of Staff Kadriye Kasapoğlu, and the drivers of Media AŞ Board Chairman Murat Ongun, have been arrested.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues its corruption investigation against suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested and removed from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), on charges of 'being a leader of a criminal organization', 'being a member of a criminal organization', 'embezzlement', 'bribery', 'qualified fraud', 'illegally obtaining personal data', and 'interfering with a tender'.

PROCEDURES OF 10 SUSPECTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AT THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

Within the scope of the investigation, the statements of the suspects taken into custody, including the driver of IMM Sports Club President Fatih Keleş, Hüseyin Yurddaş, the driver of IMM Private Secretary Kadriye Kasapoğlu, Sabri Caner Kırca, the driver of MEDIA A.Ş. Board Chairman Murat Ongun, Kadir Öztürk, and the driver of IMM Council Member İbrahim Özkan, Mustafa Bostancı, accountant Zafer Çimen, and businessmen Salih İlhan and Bulut Aydöner, as well as employees of Ağaç A.Ş., Fatih Yağcı, Murat Or, and Ümit Polat, have been completed at the prosecutor's office.

8 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED

The suspects Bulut Aydöner, Fatih Yağcı, Hüseyin Yurddaş, Kadir Öztürk, Murat Or, Mustafa Bostancı, Sabri Caner Kırca, and Ümit Polat, who were decided to be sent for arrest by the prosecutor's office, were sent to prison by the duty magistrate. The suspects for whom the prosecutor requested judicial control, Zafer Çimen and Salih İlhan, were released.

The suspects were taken into custody during an operation carried out by the Financial Crimes Investigation Department teams on July 9, as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
