The first hearing of the murder case of Hakan Çakır, who was killed during a fight while trying to protect his sister in the Keçiören district of Ankara, has been completed. The court decided to continue the detention of the defendants and postponed the hearing to March 4.

The trial regarding the murder of Hakan Çakır (23), who was killed during a fight while trying to protect his mother and sister in the Keçiören district of Ankara, began with tension at the Ankara 12th High Criminal Court, with 5 defendants, including 2 children.

THE COURTHOUSE CORRIDOR BECAME CHAOTIC

The courthouse corridor became chaotic when the bailiff called the parties into the courtroom. Those who came to support the victim's family booed and reacted to the suspects.

PROVOCATIVE SLOGANS FROM THE DEFENDANTS' RELATIVES

According to journalist Emrullah Erdinç, the tension escalated when the relatives of the defendants began chanting slogans like "murderer Şahinler" to provoke the victim's family and supporters. The relatives of the victim's family reacted to the defendants' relatives upon hearing these words.

THE JUDGE INTERVENED

The relatives of the defendants who were chanting provocative slogans in the courthouse were removed. The judge requested that the relatives of the victim's family also be taken out of the corridor. The officials warned the relatives of the victim's family waiting in the corridor to leave the courthouse.

INTERIM DECISION WAS MADE

The first hearing of the case regarding the murder of Hakan Çakır has been completed. The court decided to continue the detention of the defendants and postponed the hearing to March 4.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the Keçiören district of Ankara, 23-year-old Hakan Çakır's mother and sister had an argument with Taha Z. (14) and Samet Z. (17), who were sitting on the stairs, over a right-of-way issue while returning home from the shop. Hakan Çakır was stabbed to death during a fight with those who verbally harassed his 15-year-old sister and mother. In the fight, his brother Hakkı Can Çakır and father Şahin Çakır were also injured by stabbing.

Taha Z. and Samet Z., who were involved in the incident, along with their brother Ahmet Emir Z. (19) and their father Cemal Z. (45), as well as U.K., were arrested.

After the brutality, the photos shared by the defendants on their social media accounts with numerous weapons and sharp objects drew reactions, and messages threatening the Çakır family came to the fore.

For the defendants Ahmet Emir Z., his father Cemal Z., and U.K., life imprisonment for "intentional murder" and prison sentences of up to 45 years for various crimes are being sought.

For the two brothers under 18, prison sentences of up to 41 years are being requested for "intentional murder" and "injury."
