Fenerbahçe announced that 1% of player salaries in future football transfers will be allocated to the development and education of disadvantaged children. Transfer negotiations will not be advanced with players who do not accept this salary sharing.
The Fenerbahçe Club will allocate 1% of player salaries from transfers made under the "Hope for the Future" project to a special program that will contribute to the education, development, and future of disadvantaged children.
According to the statement from the yellow-navy blue club, the project, initiated under the leadership of sporting director Devin Özek and supported by the club, will be dedicated to the memory of Özek's mother, Cornelia Özek.
PLAYERS WHO DO NOT ACCEPT WILL NOT BE NEGOTIATED WITH
As part of the program to be implemented after discussions with relevant institutions and organizations, transfer negotiations will not be advanced with players who do not adopt the principle of social responsibility and do not accept contributions from their salaries.
Here is Fenerbahçe's statement:
"As Fenerbahçe Sports Club, we see taking responsibility not only on the field but in every area of life, adding value to society, and being a hope for the future as one of our fundamental duties.
In line with this understanding, we have initiated a sustainable social responsibility project led by our Sporting Director Devin Özek, which has been embraced by our Club.
From now on, 1% of our players' salaries in all Professional Football A Team transfers will be allocated to a support program that will touch the lives of disadvantaged children and contribute to their education, development, and future.
In new player transfers where the principle of social responsibility is not adopted and contributions from salaries are not accepted, negotiations will not be advanced.
This program, to be implemented after discussions with relevant institutions and organizations, will not only be a campaign but a permanent and sustainable social responsibility model that reflects the values of Fenerbahçe.
This meaningful project, inspired by Devin Özek's mother, Cornelia Özek, marks the first step in a journey that will symbolize the desire of a lovingly nurtured idea to leave a hopeful mark in the lives of thousands of children, and it will become a tradition of the Fenerbahçe Sports Club.
As in the past, Fenerbahçe will continue to measure success not only by trophies but also by the value it adds to human life.
As a club that carries the responsibility of being a large community in its heart, we continue to uphold this understanding in every field.
Just as Fenerbahçe lives in the hearts of millions, we will continue to be Fenerbahçe in the lives of children who build the future with hope."
