U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem claimed that there are sleeper cells linked to Iran. Noem asserted that they work every day with intelligence agencies against the security threats posed by these alleged cells.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem stated regarding the security risk posed by Iranian-linked sleeper cells in the U.S., "We work every day to find them and prevent any attacks or crimes they may commit against the American people."

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem answered questions from Congress members about immigration practices and homeland security at the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

IRAN ALERT IN THE U.S.

In response to a question about what steps the Department of Homeland Security is taking against Iranian sleeper cells and related terrorist activities, Secretary Noem said, "We ensure that we investigate and identify potential threats to the country within our borders by working every day with our intelligence agencies and law enforcement partners."

"WE WORK EVERY DAY"

Noem stated, "We know there are dangerous individuals entering our country unchecked. We work every day to find them and prevent any attacks or crimes they may commit against the American people."

PROTESTED DURING THE SESSION

On the other hand, Noem, who provided information to Congress members for the first time since the Trump administration's policy of mass deportation of irregular migrants and the shooting death of two protesters by federal officials in Minneapolis during this process, faced tough questions and serious accusations during the Senate session.

Noem was protested by a demonstrator shouting "You should be ashamed of yourself" and "Abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)" before her opening statement.

Noem, who has been a target of harsh criticism for labeling American citizens killed by ICE officials as "terrorists," did not apologize for these statements. Expressing condolences to the families and stating that the incidents were "tragic," Noem said she would work on cases where U.S. citizens were shot and killed by ICE officials, adding, "I will continue to work every day to provide accurate information to everyone."
