Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghai argued that their latest proposal to the US was “reasonable and generous.” The Tehran administration had demanded an end to the war, the lifting of the naval blockade, the removal of sanctions, and the return of frozen Iranian assets. US President Donald Trump, however, reacted harshly to Iran's proposal, stating it was “completely unacceptable.” The tension between the parties also stirred up oil markets.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Bekayi claimed that the latest proposal presented to the US by the Tehran administration is “reasonable and generous.” Bekayi’s statements came after US President Donald Trump described Iran’s proposal as “completely unacceptable.”
“WE ARE NOT THE BULLY OF THE REGION” Speaking at a press conference, Bekayi stated that Iran is a responsible power in the region, saying, “The Islamic Republic has proven to be a responsible power in the region. We are not bullies; we stand up to bullies.”
Bekayi accused the Washington administration of “insisting on unilateral and unreasonable demands.”
IRAN’S DEMANDS ON THE TABLE The Iranian official announced that, within the framework of the proposal submitted to the US, Tehran demands a complete end to the war, the lifting of the US-imposed naval blockade, and the release of Iran’s frozen assets.
It was also stated that the proposal includes ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and guaranteeing regional security. The Tehran administration is also reported to have requested the lifting of sanctions on Iranian oil sales and a guarantee from the US that no new attacks will occur.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Bekayi TRUMP: COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE US President Donald Trump, however, harshly criticized Iran’s response.
Trump stated, “I read the response from Iran’s representatives. I didn’t like it at all. It is completely unacceptable.”
It is noted that the Washington administration finds Iran’s demands excessive, and tensions between the parties are reported to be rising again.
OIL MARKETS STIRRED The harsh statements between the US and Iran have also affected energy markets. Following Iran’s demands regarding the Strait of Hormuz and sanctions, oil prices have seen a new increase.
Experts warn that unless progress is made in the talks, tensions in the Middle East could rise even further.
