Following claims that a new district named 'Yenişehir' would be added to Istanbul's 39 districts, the Disinformation Combat Center made a statement. Refuting the claims, the DMM emphasized that the Ministry of Interior or any institution does not have any plans to establish a new district in Istanbul.
The Communications Presidency's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) made a statement regarding claims in some media outlets and social media accounts that a new district named 'Yenişehir' would be established in Istanbul, covering the route of Kanal Istanbul and the area around Istanbul Airport.
In a statement made from DMM's social media account, it was noted that these claims do not reflect the truth and that the public is being misled.
CATEGORICALLY DENIED

Firstly; according to Article 2 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, the establishment, abolition, determination of centers, name changes of provinces and districts, and the connection of one district to another province can only be done by law.
"NO WORK IS UNDERWAY"
