The claim that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş will resign from the Republican People's Party (CHP) and continue his path independently, after expressing his dissatisfaction with being informed one hour before his speech at the CHP's Statute Congress, has caused a great stir in the public. Yavaş, who denied the resignation claims that were also reported in some media outlets, said, "I don't have time to deal with slander, conspiracy, and lies."

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş had criticized being informed only one hour before his speech at the CHP's Statute Congress. After Yavaş's reaction at the Statute Congress, it was claimed that he would leave the CHP.

Zafer Şahin, a columnist for Milliyet, wrote an article claiming that Mansur Yavaş had burned bridges with the CHP. Yavaş, the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, responded to Şahin's claims that he would leave the CHP and run for president in the 2028 elections.
