As part of the investigation, her 18-year-old brother E.G. was taken into custody and the bite mark on his arm was sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute to determine if it belonged to Narin Güran. The report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institute has been sent to the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, where the investigation is being conducted. The report states that the bite mark does not belong to Narin. E.G. has been brought back to Diyarbakır after the procedures in Istanbul.

In a statement regarding the matter, Ali Rıza Güran, the uncle of Narin's father Arif Güran, stated that E.G., who is in custody, bit himself and said, "Our child is very sensitive and clean. She is a very respectful child towards adults. She runs towards her uncle from above and says to him, 'My sister is missing.' She had her phone in her hand. She slams her phone on the ground in front of her aunt and uncle. Because she couldn't say anything to her uncle, she starts biting herself, harming herself. The harm is to herself. She is not someone who would do anything. They brought the child back to Diyarbakır again, but she has been taken into custody again."
