Dr. Müberra Hraloğlu, a specialist in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at Biruni University Medical Faculty Hospital, explained the curiosities about the HMPV virus to Meral Karadağ in the Haberler.com studio. The expert emphasized that it should not be compared to COVID-19 and pointed out that viruses undergo changes, increasing the risk of infection.

Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist Dr. Müberra Hraloğlu made striking statements about the HMPV virus in the Haberler.com studio. Emphasizing that the virus does not have a specific treatment, Dr. Müberra stated that it should not be compared to COVID-19. She also pointed out that viruses undergo changes, increasing the risk of infection.

"WE CANNOT COMPARE HMPV VIRUS TO COVID-19"

Speaking on Haberler.com's "Recovery Starts Here" program, Specialist Dr. Müberra stated that the HMPV virus does not pose the same level of threat as COVID-19, saying, "There is no need for a pandemic fear like COVID. However, let’s not forget that viruses can change and even affect those who have previously had an infection," she said.

"THERE IS NO SPECIFIC TREATMENT FOR HMPV VIRUS"

Dr. Müberra stated that the diagnosis and treatment of the HMPV virus can easily be confused with other diseases. "There is no specific treatment for the virus, and there is no distinguishing diagnosis. Additionally, the pneumonia vaccine is not effective in protecting against this virus," she said.

"INFLUENZA RATES ARE INCREASING"

Referring to the latest reports from the World Health Organization, the specialist warned, "WHO has announced that the influenza rate is increasing worldwide. Caution is needed regarding the HMPV virus and other respiratory infections," she said.
