The claim that a requirement for official documentation will be introduced for cash deposits and withdrawals at banks has ignited a new debate. In a statement from MASAK regarding news reported by some media outlets, it was stated, "There is no requirement for documentation when depositing or withdrawing cash at banks."
As of January 1, 2025, it has been suggested that a new era will begin for banking transactions, and that official documents showing the source will be required for cash deposit and withdrawal transactions.
RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS FROM MASAK
The statement regarding the news that appeared on some news sites came from MASAK. The Financial Crimes Investigation Board reported that there is no plan to initiate a practice requiring supporting documents during cash deposits to banks or cash withdrawals from banks.
