JERUSALEM (AA) – Israel's foreign minister on Monday threatened to assassinate Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.

"Nasrallah has not stopped attacking [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu or threatening Israel," Israel Katz wrote on his Twitter account.

"As his distress grows, his eloquence increases. In the meantime, he is forced to go down another floor into the bunker in the face of warnings from his Iranian patrons about the possibility of his assassination," he said.

"If he [Nasrallah] challenges Israel - that won't help him either," Katz said, referring that Nasrallah's hide shelter won't save him.

Israel claims that Nasrallah lives in a bunker for years for fear of being assassinated.

Following the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in a U.S. drone airstrike earlier this month, Nasrallah vowed to retaliate against Israel.

Although welcoming his killing, Israel has denied any involvement in Soleimani's assassination.
