In Erzincan, during the winter months, especially in the evening hours, thousands of crows flock to the city center, causing difficult moments for the residents.
Crows that have made the tree branches on Halitpaşa and Ordu Streets in the city center of Erzincan their home come every day between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The birds, which disturb the environment with the noise they make, also dirty the passersby.
CROW CHASING TEAM ESTABLISHED
In response to complaints from citizens, the Cleaning Affairs Directorate teams of Erzincan Municipality took action in previous periods and established a "crow chasing team." The teams tried to drive the birds away from the area by setting off firecrackers in places where crows were densely located in the evening hours. However, despite the methods applied, a permanent solution could not be achieved.
THEY ARE HAVING DIFFICULTY WALKING
Citizens stated that they are having difficulty walking due to the crows in the evening hours, noting that the problem has been ongoing for a long time and expressing their expectation for a solution from the authorities. Citizens said, "Our expectation for 2026 is to find a permanent solution to the crow problem in Erzincan."
