Following the instructions in these messages, she said they handed over 150,000 lira in cash to Muzaffer A. together. Beyza Şahin noted that the messages sent from the phone indicated that her father was going to Greece, and then the phone was turned off. In the investigation initiated by the police, the statement of Muzaffer A., the husband of Ahmet Şahin's sister-in-law, who was sought as missing, was taken. Muzaffer A., who stated that he last saw Ahmet Şahin on the day he gave him money and that he had not seen him for a long time, was released.

Following this, the teams examining security camera footage found that Ahmet Şahin and Muzaffer A. went to Arnavutköy in a car around 9:00 AM and that Muzaffer A. left Arnavutköy alone by car at 1:42 PM.

It was determined that the body was thrown into the wooded area and that efforts were made to hide it by covering it with branches. In the investigation conducted by the Missing Persons Bureau regarding the incident, it was determined that after the incident, Muzaffer A. first went to Bahçelievler with the credit card he took from Ahmet Şahin and purchased gold worth 242,000 lira from a jeweler there. It was also revealed that Muzaffer A. took the gold he purchased the same day to another jeweler in Zeytinburnu to exchange it.

In his statement at the Missing Persons Bureau, Muzaffer A. confessed to his crime, claiming that Ahmet Şahin borrowed approximately 3 million lira from him because he was playing online gambling but never paid it back. He also mentioned that he was fired from his job because he borrowed money from his colleagues to lend to Ahmet Şahin and could not pay it back. Muzaffer A. said, "On the day of the incident, he told me he would pay back his debt. We got into the car together around 6:00 AM. When he said the money would come to Arnavutköy, we went that way. We waited around for a while; however, no one came. Later, when he said the money would be brought to Yeniköy Cemetery, we headed that way."

Muzaffer A. stated that despite waiting for a while at Yeniköy Cemetery in Arnavutköy, when the money did not arrive, an argument broke out between them. "He started yelling at me. At that moment, he had also drawn his gun from his waist. There was a struggle between us. During this time, the gun fired several times. I don't remember the exact number. I lost my temper. When I came to my senses, I realized he was dead. I left the body by the roadside, covered it with bushes, and ran away from there," he said.

In his statement to the police, Muzaffer A. confessed to buying gold with the credit card and then exchanging it. "To destroy his phone, I took a taxi through an app to Silivri. I waited for the taxi there, broke the phone behind a gas station, and then returned. After that, I started living my normal life," he was reported to have said.

The Missing Persons Bureau obtained security camera footage showing the moments when the suspect sold and exchanged the gold. The moments when the suspect broke the phone of the person he killed were also captured by another security camera.
