"I AM CONSIDERING A LIMITED ATTACK"
Most recently, U.S. President Donald Trump responded to a question about whether he was considering a limited attack on Iran by saying, "I think I am evaluating that."
On the other hand, according to reports in the U.S. press, the likelihood of the U.S. military conducting an attack on Iran has increased.
ISRAEL ON ALERT
Israeli state television KAN reported that Israeli Army Spokesman Effie Defrin stated that the army is "fully prepared for the possibility of the U.S. launching an attack on Iran soon and that Israel would respond strongly if attacked."
According to KAN, the Israeli army has raised the alert level on its northern border with Lebanon due to the potential escalation with Hezbollah resulting from the U.S. attack on Iran.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In a report by the U.S.-based Axios news platform, citing unnamed sources, it was claimed that the U.S. is "closer to a major war with Iran in the Middle East than most Americans realize, and that this could start very soon."
The report suggested that "the U.S. military operation against Iran could be large, lasting weeks, and fully-fledged," and it was claimed that this attack could likely be a "joint U.S.-Israel operation."
