It has been reported that the water level has started to recede in the Eynif Plain section of the new Antalya-Konya highway, while it was noted that the road is still closed to traffic for the safety of drivers. On the other hand, the current state of the road was captured by a drone.
About 10 days ago, after heavy rainfall in Antalya, some sections of the Konya-Antalya highway were submerged, and the road was closed to traffic for safety reasons.
ROAD STILL CLOSED TO TRAFFIC
Authorities stated that the road platform was underwater due to the heavy rainfall and that the route was closed to traffic for the safety of drivers.
DRIVERS WERE DIRECTED TO ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
It was expressed that water accumulations occurred, especially in low-lying areas, and therefore traffic flow could not be safely maintained. After the transportation was halted, drivers were directed to alternative routes, and it was reported that traffic flow was diverted to the Akseki and Manavgat routes.
WATER LEVEL STILL HIGH
It was noted that the highway teams are continuously working on draining the water and reopening the road to traffic, and that the damage that may occur on the road surface will be thoroughly examined after the water completely recedes.
It was stated that the water level on the road near Gembos Plain towards the Konya direction is still high.
LAST STATE CAPTURED BY DRONE
On the other hand, the latest state of the road, which became a topic of discussion after being submerged, was captured by drone.
