AK Party Gaziantep Deputy and Head of the Turkey-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group Ali Şahin stated that Pakistan has achieved a diplomatic victory with its mediating role in the US-Iran war. Şahin emphasized that due to its nuclear and military power in the region, Pakistan will be one of the key actors in the new security architecture to be established in the Middle East and the Gulf.
On the News.com YouTube channel, Ali Şahin, AK Party Gaziantep Deputy and Chairman of the Turkey-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, evaluated Pakistan's international position as a mediator in the US-Iran war.

Stating that Pakistan has diplomatically emerged from the war with a victory, Ali Şahin said in a special statement to News.com, "Pakistan is undoubtedly one of the winning sides in terms of becoming a global mediator actor in international perception. In the upcoming process, we will see a new security mechanism and architecture being built by Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. From this perspective, considering its nuclear capability, we can say that Pakistan will become one of the important actors in the political and military security architecture in the Middle East and the Gulf region in the coming period. This also makes Pakistan one of the winners of this war," he said.
"PAKISTAN ACHIEVED A DIPLOMATIC VICTORY"
In a written assessment regarding Pakistan's critical role in achieving a diplomatic victory, Ali Şahin used the following expressions:
"Pakistan's diplomatic power has shown success in bringing a global crisis on the verge of spiraling out of control to the peace table. Whether peace can emerge from the table is uncertain, but Pakistan has already achieved a diplomatic victory.

1- Pakistan has developed a communication based on trust and dialogue with Iran for many years; and with the US-Trump side for a while.
2- Both Prime Minister Mr. Shahbaz Sharif and Chief of General Staff Mr. Asim Munir have close personal friendships with Donald Trump.
Donald Trump hosted Pakistan's Chief of General Staff Marshal Asim Munir for a private lunch at the White House on June 18, 2025, and referred to Asim Munir as "my favorite general."
3- Pakistan has very close friendships and trust-based bilateral relations with the dominant countries of the Gulf and the Middle East."
THE MILITARY PRESENCE IN THE GULF IS STRIKING
According to Şahin's assessment, a significant number of personnel from the Pakistan Armed Forces are serving in Gulf countries, which stands out as a concrete indicator of inter-country trust relations. Highlighting that thousands of Pakistani soldiers are serving in Saudi Arabia, Şahin stated that the security capacity in Qatar is significantly supported by Pakistani experts.
Emphasizing that Pakistan is a country that provides actual and physical security to the Gulf and the Middle East, Şahin said, "Many retired commanders from the Pakistan Armed Forces are serving in Gulf countries and military structures."
SAUDI ARABIA, QATAR, UAE, OMAN...
Ali Şahin used the following expressions:
"The most striking of these is Brigadier General Malik Hamid El Cid. Brigadier General Hamid, who serves in the Saudi Royal Guard, is responsible for the protection of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and is part of the closest protection circle. This symbolic duty is a sign of the deep military and strategic trust and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
There are actively 2,600 Pakistani soldiers serving in the Saudi Arabian army. In the 1980s, this number was around 20,000. Pakistani-origin soldiers are primarily serving in the air force and border security in the Saudi army.
The Qatari army and police owe their technical capacity largely to Pakistani experts. In the World Cup, 4,500 Pakistani soldiers provided tournament security. Currently, 650 Pakistani soldiers are serving in the Qatari Armed Forces.

Stating that Pakistan's nuclear power and demographic structure provide a significant advantage, Şahin emphasized that the country has achieved an important diplomatic victory, saying:
"Pakistan is a deterrent nuclear power. As the only nuclear power in the Islamic world, Pakistan plays a deterrent and respected role over enemies while providing confidence to friends with this capacity.
Pakistan has the second-largest Shia population after Iran (approximately 30 million). This potential creates a strong bond of trust between Pakistan and both Iran and the Shia-populated countries of the Middle East and the Gulf.
