Kadir Gökçe, who has a 70% mental disability, was attacked in the middle of the street by two people with sticks while visiting his sister with his mother in Sultangazi, Istanbul. The horrifying moments of the incident were captured on camera as the mother, trying to save her son, was also beaten and injured. Kadir Gökçe said, "They don't want me. They call me 'Crazy Kadir.' I'm fine, but my head hurts."
A heartbreaking incident occurred yesterday around 06:30 in the Cebeci neighborhood of the Sultangazi district in Istanbul. According to the information obtained, Kadir Gökçe, who is 70% disabled, went to his sister's side to download a messaging application on his phone.
THEY ASSAULTED THE DISABLED YOUTH AND HIS MOTHER
The individuals he encountered on the street where his sister lives claimed that Gökçe insulted them. They started arguing with Gökçe in front of his mother. During the argument, two people beat Kadir Gökçe with sticks. When the police arrived at the scene upon notification, one of the two individuals began to hit Gökçe's mother, Ayfer Kaya, while the police were trying to separate the fight.
THEY WERE RELEASED
As those moments were captured by security cameras, the two suspects who were detained were released by the court under judicial control conditions.
“THEY SAY YOU'RE CRAZY KADIR”
Mother Ayfer Kaya said, "The incident happened yesterday around 06:30. My son went to his sister's side. When my son went there, they said, 'Why are you coming here, you are crazy Kadir,' and a fight broke out. Later, the police came. When I intervened, they approached me and beat me," she said.
“THEY DON'T WANT ME, I'M FINE BUT MY HEAD HURTS”
Kadir Gökçe said, "I went to my sister's side and then they beat me there. They don't want me, they say I'm disabled and crazy. They came and hit me from behind. I'm fine, but my head hurts. I am pressing charges, I will pursue it to the end," he said.
