The leader of the Independent Turkey Party, Hüseyin Baş, came to the prosecutor's office to give a statement as part of an investigation launched against him on the grounds of insulting the President. He was subsequently released under judicial control by the duty magistrate.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated an ex officio investigation against the Chairman of the Independent Turkey Party (BTP), Hüseyin Baş, on the grounds that he made insulting remarks about the President during a speech at a party meeting on December 22, 2024.

WILL SIGN EVERY MONDAY

As part of the investigation, the suspect Baş came to the Istanbul Courthouse located in Çağlayan and gave a statement to the Prosecutor's Office. After the procedures at the Prosecutor's Office, the suspect Baş was released under judicial control conditions of 'signing every Monday' and 'a travel ban abroad' by the Istanbul Peace Criminal Court.

WHAT DID HÜSEYİN BAŞ SAY?

BTP Chairman Hüseyin Baş stated in Trabzon; "They say they will bring democracy to Syria. Son, first bring democracy to your own country. You arrested me because nine young people protested you for trading with Israel. First, bring democracy to your own country."
