Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu responded to his critics in an interview on the day of his party's 39th Ordinary Congress, saying, "Bring it on, there's no need for empty noise." Regarding allegations of corruption, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "This state must cut off the right arm of anyone involved in corruption, regardless of their position or status, and must gouge out the left eye if necessary."
While claims that he could return to the leadership of the CHP following a potential "absolute nullity" decision in the congress case are on the agenda, former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made important statements to Sabah newspaper. Kılıçdaroğlu, who stated that the campaign of insults and threats against him has increased after the video he published on social media, said he would continue his criticisms without taking a step back.
"IF I WERE TO TAKE A STEP BACK..."
Emphasizing that he is accustomed to threats in politics and that he has not backed down from assassination attempts, attacks, and lynch attempts in the past, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "If I were a politician who would take a step back out of fear of threats and lynchings; when I was assassinated in Artvin Şavşat, when I was attempted to be burned alive in Çubuk, when bullets were fired at me, I would have taken a step back. It is my duty to defend the rights of orphans and the downtrodden. The value of what I say will be understood. Politicians should be open to criticism. I am open to criticism, but insults are another matter. Most of those who attack me have become extensions of dark forces through troll accounts. If they have an objection, they should come forward with their real identities. I will not take a step back against fake accounts," he stated.
"OUR NATION KNOWS WHO IS WHO"
Continuing his words with even more intensity, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Whoever has taken a single step detrimental to this state, whoever has eaten a penny from the people's money, may God curse them! Our nation knows who is who."
"OTHERWISE, THE NATION CANNOT RISE"
In the interview, Kılıçdaroğlu also addressed the allegations of corruption associated with the CHP, stating that the party cannot be in a position to be associated with such allegations. Describing the spiral of corruption and bribery as "poison," Kılıçdaroğlu said, "The spiral of corruption and bribery is poisonous. The sole addressee is not the CHP. We are not afraid of accountability, but we also know how to demand it. The government can pursue the CHP, but its own municipalities and bureaucrats must also be held accountable. The state must cut off the right arm of anyone involved in corruption and gouge out the left eye. Otherwise, the nation cannot rise."
"THE ISSUE HERE IS NOT A COMMISSION VISIT"
Clarifying the discussions regarding the CHP's refusal to send a member to the delegation that will visit the island, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that this is not a matter of daily politics, saying, "States make their plans not daily or weekly, but long-term. The issue here is not a commission visit, but to thwart the plans of imperial powers in the Middle East. The CHP should draw a roadmap for our nation in this regard. This process is managed by the state's security bureaucracy."
