An investigation was launched against Kerimcan Durmaz by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the grounds of illegal betting advertisement.

Following the allegations of illegal betting advertisement, Kerimcan Durmaz was detained at his home.

WHY WAS KERİMCAN DURMAZ DETAINED?

While the investigation continues against some individuals, including Serdar Ortaç and Mehmet Ali Erbil, it was revealed that Durmaz had performed at a concert organized for the advertisement of an illegal betting site. Following the related footage, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Kerimcan Durmaz.

WHO IS KERİMCAN DURMAZ?

Kerimcan Durmaz was born on November 2, 1994, in the Yeniköy neighborhood of Istanbul. His mother is a housewife, and his father is a restaurant operator. He has two older sisters. After finishing high school, he went to Baku and worked as a makeup artist. He stepped into social media with the videos he uploaded to Periscope and Snapchat starting from 2015. He later returned to Istanbul and began working as a DJ. He received an offer to play a leading role in a movie whose shooting would start in December 2016.

During the 2016-17 broadcast season, he started serving as a jury member in the seventh season of the TV8 competition " İşte Benim Stilim." On November 30, 2016, he was attacked and injured at a venue in Samsun where he was performing.

Kerimcan, who has performed as a DJ in famous venues, has earned so much money in a short time that he humorously stated in an interview that he does not keep track of the money he earns and that he stopped counting after a certain point.
