According to KONDA's research, the proportion of CHP voters who say "Kılıçdaroğlu should return to the chairmanship" is only 5%. The biggest support for Kılıçdaroğlu's return came from AK Party voters at 39% and MHP voters at 31%. Meanwhile, 53% of the CHP base and 59% of Turkey's general population advocated for the view that "a new congress should be convened quickly" to resolve the crisis.
The crisis in the Republican People's Party (CHP), shaken by a court ruling and marked by the 'Kılıçdaroğlu-Özgür Özel' clash, has also been examined by voters. KONDA General Manager Aydın Erdem participated in İlker Canikgil's program on Flu TV and shared with the public the results of a striking survey that gauged voter sentiment after the court decision.
"WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN NEXT IN YOUR OPINION?"
In the survey, voters were asked, "Considering the situation within the CHP, what do you think should happen next?" The resulting chart provided results that will be widely debated in terms of internal party dynamics and the expectations of rivals.
SUPPORT FOR KILIÇDAROĞLU REMAINED AT 5%
The most striking result of the survey was the level of support that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who assumed the position by court order, received from his own party members. The proportion of CHP voters saying, "Kılıçdaroğlu should become the chairman" stood at only 5%. In contrast, 53% of CHP voters said, "A new congress should be convened quickly," while 43% advocated that "The current administration (Özgür Özel and his team) should continue their duties by ignoring the decision."
THE CUMHUR ALLIANCE VOTERS SAID "KILIÇDAROĞLU"
Another striking detail in the chart was the preferences of voters from the ruling bloc. It was observed that the group most wanting Kılıçdaroğlu to return to the leadership of the CHP was the AK Party and MHP voters.
According to the survey, the proportion of those saying, "Kılıçdaroğlu should become the chairman" was recorded as;
- Among AK Party voters: 39%
- Among MHP voters: 31%
The overwhelming majority of the ruling bloc voters, however, agreed on the idea that the CHP should quickly convene a new congress. The rate of AK Party members wanting a congress was 53%, while among MHP members it was 68%.
TURKEY WIDELY WANTS A "NEW CONGRESS"
When the overall voter profile across Turkey was examined, it emerged that more than half of the public wants an election. Across Turkey:
- A new congress should be convened quickly: 59%
- The current administration should continue its duties by ignoring the decision: 26%
- Kılıçdaroğlu should become the chairman: 15%
THE STATUS OF DEM PARTY AND UNDECIDED VOTERS
Among the DEM Party voters in the opposition bloc, 46% found it logical to hold a new congress, while 40% stated that the current administration should continue its duties. The rate of those within the DEM Party who want Kılıçdaroğlu to return was 14%. Among undecided voters, 66% pointed to "a new congress" as the only solution to the crisis, while 73% of those who said they would not vote also indicated the same.
