It is claimed that Koç Holding, which announced it would close its Arçelik factory in Poland, will also halt production at its three factories in Italy and lay off 2,000 employees.

In addition to its domestic investments, Koç Holding, which has also made significant initiatives in Europe and Asia, recently announced that it will close its Arçelik factory in Poland in the first quarter of 2025.

SIGNAL OF DOWNSIZING IN EUROPEAN OPERATIONS

The latest statements from the company focus on Koç Holding's operations in Italy. It has been claimed that the company, which is taking steps to downsize its Beko European operations in Italy, plans to close the Comunanza and Siena facilities in the Ascoli Piceno province by the end of 2025. Additionally, it will deactivate 2 production lines at the facility in Cassinetta di Biandronno in the province of Varese.

HUNDREDS OF EMPLOYEES WILL BE LEFT UNEMPLOYED

This situation will lead to the termination of approximately 541 employees. The company also announced that it will lay off 66 people in Melano, 40 in Carinaro, and 198 in the research and development field. Thus, a total of approximately 1,935 workers will be affected by this process.

STATEMENT FROM KOÇ HOLDING

In a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform, Koç Holding provided information about the changes to be made in its operations in Italy. The company announced that it will continue to position Italy as a strategic center in the industrial design and cooking appliances category.

Additionally, it was stated that an investment of 110 million Euros will be made. The facility in Carinaro is expected to continue being a center for spare parts and refurbishment. Koç Holding emphasized the need for the rescaling of production processes and the initiation of industrial transformation processes to increase efficiency. In this context, approximately 2,000 employees are expected to be affected, and the company stated that it will continue its negotiations with the unions.
