The Ayrancı Dam in the Ayrancı district of Karaman, which completely dried up last year due to drought, has reached 100 percent capacity with recent rainfall and started to overflow. Local residents and producers are pleased with this situation.

The Ayrancı Dam in Karaman, which completely dried up last year due to drought, has started to overflow again after re-filling following the recent effective rainfall. 

PRODUCERS ARE HAPPY

The Ayrancı Dam, which plays a critical role in agricultural irrigation activities in the region, re-filling and starting to overflow was welcomed with satisfaction by the local people and producers. 

Dam overflowing after rainfall

Nurettin Kanat, a 75-year-old resident of the district, stated that the rainfall following the dry period brought abundance to the region. Kanat, who said he deals with small-scale agricultural work, expressed that the water level in the dam has positively reflected on agricultural production, saying, "In previous years, rainfall was very scarce. This year there has been abundance. Our rainfall is plentiful. Crops are abundant, fruits are not bad. The dam looks full. Gardens are being irrigated."
