"30% OF CHILDREN WHO ARE SEXUALLY ABUSED ARE ABUSED BY THEIR FAMILIES"

Elik, who said that child abusers do not have a specific criminal profile, stated, "I want to share a very serious research result with you. 30% of children who are sexually abused are abused by their families. A very high rate. What's worse is that 60% of them are subjected to this crime by an adult they know but who is not their family. Only 10% have been sexually abused by someone they don't know.".

Talking about emotional abuse, which is one of the common types of abuse, the lawyer said, "I can say that the number of children who are subjected to emotional abuse is almost non-existent.
