ROADS IN ANKARA TURNED INTO A POND
The downpour that started in the evening hours in the capital was effective in some areas of the city. The rainfall negatively impacted daily life. Due to the rain, some underpasses, streets, and avenues were flooded.
VEHICLES WERE STRANDED ON THE ROAD
Traffic was negatively affected due to the rainfall. Drivers struggled to progress because of the water accumulations. In areas where traffic was heavy, vehicle queues formed due to the rain, and transportation was disrupted. Additionally, a car was damaged as a result of the collapse of a building's retaining wall.
Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin stated in a press release, "Currently, there is no serious problem. There is water accumulation in one or two underpasses. The teams are intervening there right now. Hopefully, we will get through this without a serious crisis."
