President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the 50th anniversary ceremony of the Cyprus Peace Operation in the capital of the TRNC, Nicosia, and delivered a speech. Among those attending the ceremony were MHP and CHP leaders Devlet Bahceli and Ozgur Ozal.

In his speech at the ceremony, Erdogan said, "Today, just like half a century ago, we are united once again, we are united as one. As the motherland Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we stand back to back. Our presence here today, without any distinction between the ruling party and the opposition, is a testament to Turkey's importance to the Cyprus cause. Northern Cyprus is our apple of the eye. It is a part of us. This place is not only the legacy of our martyrs but also the legacy of our heroic ancestors who conquered these lands, including the companion of Hazrat Osman. Inshallah, we will continue to protect this legacy with all our might," he said.
