Message from Pashinyan to Turkey: The time has come for concrete steps.

After the Cabinet meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to questions, and when reminded of President Erdoğan's remarks about taking some steps in bilateral relations in 2026, his answer was clear. Pashinyan stated, "It is time to take broader and more concrete steps, both symbolic and non-symbolic, within the framework of our bilateral dialogue, and I hope that these steps will be realized."

Pashinyan said, "The time has come for non-symbolic steps within the framework of our bilateral dialogue. I hope these steps will materialize."

ERDOĞAN'S WORDS REMINDED

After the Cabinet meeting, when responding to questions from the press, Pashinyan was reminded of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statements regarding the possibility of some steps being taken in Turkey-Armenia relations in 2026. Pashinyan expressed a positive approach to these assessments.

According to Armenpress, Pashinyan emphasized that the dialogue between the two countries needs to enter a new phase, stating, "The time has come for broader and more concrete steps, not just symbolic or even non-symbolic."

TRIPP PROJECT AND 2026 MESSAGE

Referring to the International Route for Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, also known as the "Zangezur Corridor," Pashinyan announced that Armenia and the U.S. have prepared a document containing strategic details within the scope of the project. Pashinyan mentioned that the work on the ground could become visible from the second half of 2026.

FIRST STEP MAY BE RAILWAY

Pashinyan indicated that the railway project could be the first concrete step in this process, noting that Armenia is working on the provision of modern infrastructure and advanced technology equipment at borders and customs. The Armenian Prime Minister stated that this infrastructure is planned to be used at the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Armenia-Georgia, Armenia-Iran, and Armenia-Turkey borders.

Pashinyan also expressed hope that steps would be taken in the near future to develop bilateral trade between Armenia and Azerbaijan and to ensure exports to this country.
