Message from President Erdoğan on Syria Freedom Day

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a message published on the first anniversary of the overthrow of the Assad regime in Syria, stated, "On December 8, Syria Freedom Day, I convey Turkey's heartfelt greetings and affection to the brotherly people of Syria."

It has been a year since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on December 8, Syrian Freedom Day. Erdoğan stated, "I sincerely congratulate the 1st anniversary of the December 8 Revolution, which has brought our Syrian brothers to freedom after years of a regime of oppression, heavy costs, great pains, and various difficulties."

Expressing his condolences for the brothers who were martyred in the attacks of the fallen regime and terrorist organizations, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that he conveyed Turkey's greetings and affection to the Syrian people.

Erdoğan expressed that they appreciated and were pleased with the progress made in Syria over the past year, stating, "We will continue to provide every kind of support necessary for the preservation of Syria's territorial integrity, the establishment of social peace with all segments within, and for it to stand out as a center of peace and stability in the region."
