In Venezuela, where U.S. President Donald Trump announced that they would soon begin a ground operation, 5,600 new soldiers have sworn in to join the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
According to news from the Venezuelan press, a statement from the government indicated that 5,600 new soldiers have been sworn in and included in the army due to the 'increased imperialist threats.'
THEY SWORE ALLEGIANCE TO MADURO
The statement emphasized that this initiative is a response to threats from the United States and the U.S. military fleet deployed in the Caribbean, noting that the new soldiers have sworn allegiance to President Nicolas Maduro and that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) are the 'backbone of Venezuela's stability, peace, security, and future.'
APPLICATIONS TO JOIN THE ARMY HAVE SOARED
FANB Commander General Javier Jose Marcano stated in an interview with state television VTV that there has been an increase in applications to join the army, saying, "While imperialism threatens our country in an illegal, arbitrary, deceitful, and arrogant manner, our people, especially the youth, are coming in thousands to join the Bolivarian National Armed Forces."
THERE ARE 200,000 SOLDIERS AND MILLIONS OF RESERVE MILITIA MEMBERS
According to official data, there are approximately 200,000 soldiers, 200,000 police officers, and additionally millions of reserve militia members in Venezuela.
