A note that Ekrem İmamoğlu jotted down in his notebook at the time he was detained as part of the corruption and terrorism investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) has emerged. It was noted that İmamoğlu stated, "Our nation will give the necessary response to those who spread lies, set traps, and steal the people's will. I entrust myself first to God and then to our nation."
As part of two separate investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding terrorism and organized crimes against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), 84 people, including IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, were detained.
HANDWRITTEN NOTE THAT DRAWS ATTENTION IN THE NOTEBOOK
While İmamoğlu's detention caused a wide public outcry, another noteworthy piece of information emerged. It was learned that during the minutes when dozens of police searched his home, he wrote a handwritten note in his notebook.
"OUR NATION WILL GIVE THE NECESSARY RESPONSE"
In a message shared from IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu's X account, it was seen that he stated, "Our nation will give the necessary response to those who steal the people's will, to the lies, traps, and schemes. I entrust my life to Allah first, and then to our nation."
HE SHARED A VIDEO WHILE BEING DETAINED
On the other hand, İmamoğlu shared a video at the moments he was being detained, and in the message he gave while preparing, he said, "I regret to say that a handful of minds trying to usurp the will of our nation have used my dear police officers, and the security forces of this country, to carry out this evil, piling up at the door of my home, the door of 16 million Istanbulites. Hundreds of police have piled up."
