Meteorology issues yellow and orange coded warnings for 49 provinces.

The General Directorate of Meteorology has shared the latest weather report. While severe weather conditions are highlighted in various regions across the country, yellow and orange coded warnings have been issued for 49 provinces. Snowfall is expected in some provinces, while heavy rainfall is anticipated in others. It is predicted that air temperatures will be 5 to 15 degrees below seasonal norms.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of Meteorology, a partially and very cloudy weather will dominate most of the country. It is expected that the eastern Marmara, eastern Central Anatolia, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia (except Van), and Southeastern Anatolia will experience intermittent rainfall. These rains will occur in the form of mixed rain and snow, and heavy rainfall is expected in some regions.

WILL FALL 15 DEGREES BELOW SEASONAL NORMS

Snowfall is expected in provinces such as Bursa, Kocaeli, and Kayseri. In Istanbul, Hatay, Mersin, Samsun, Trabzon, Erzurum, Diyarbakır, Antep, Mardin, and Urfa, heavy rainfall will be effective. Additionally, in the inner and southern Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Central and Eastern Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, and the western part of Southeastern Anatolia, air temperatures will decrease by 5 to 15 degrees and fall below seasonal norms.

WEATHER CONDITIONS WARNINGS

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rainfall is expected in the eastern part of the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea coasts, the western part of Eastern Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia. It is predicted that the rainfall will be particularly effective in provinces such as Sakarya, Bolu, Niğde, Kayseri, Sivas, and Karaman.

Strong wind warning: Strong winds are expected from the north in Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, and Central Anatolia, while strong winds from the south are expected in Southeastern Anatolia. Storms may be effective in the high parts of the Mediterranean. Frost and freezing warning: Frost and freezing events are expected in the inner and northern regions.

WEATHER FORECASTS

Marmara Region: Partially and very cloudy, with mixed rain and snow in the eastern part of the region, while heavy rainfall will be effective in the Anatolian side of Yalova and Istanbul. Heavy rainfall is expected around Sakarya. Frost and freezing events may also occur.

Aegean Region: Partially and slightly cloudy, very cloudy in the inner parts. In the inner regions, strong winds are expected from the north. Caution should be taken against frost and freezing events.

Mediterranean Region: Partially and very cloudy weather will be effective with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall is expected in provinces such as Hatay, Adana, and Kahramanmaraş.

Central Anatolia Region: Partially and very cloudy, with mixed rain and snow expected in the eastern part. Frost and freezing events may occur in Central Anatolia.

Black Sea Region: Rain will be effective on the Central and Eastern Black Sea coasts, while mixed rain and snow will be effective in the inner parts. Heavy rainfall is expected in the coastal areas.

HEAVY RAIN AND WIND WILL BE EFFECTIVE

The MGM reiterated its warnings against possible adverse conditions due to strong winds and heavy rainfall. It was emphasized that citizens should be cautious in the regions.
