The Ministry of Health announced that sick leave reports will be issued entirely electronically, except for certain exceptions. Through the "e-Report System," which covers civil servants, tradesmen, and individuals under the age of 18, citizens will now be able to access their reports via e-Government.
The Ministry of Health has announced a new regulation that will completely eliminate the bureaucracy related to sick leave reports. Thanks to the "e-Report System," sick leave reports obtained from healthcare institutions have now moved into the digital world. Except for certain exceptions, reports will be prepared entirely electronically, ending the era of printed outputs, and citizens will be able to access their reports instantly via e-Government.
REPORTS WITHOUT DIGITAL EQUIVALENTS ARE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE SYSTEM
With the new regulation implemented by the Ministry of Health, a major new link has been added to the digitalization move in healthcare services. In the statement made by the Ministry, it was reported that all types of sick leave reports that previously had no digital equivalent have now been integrated into this new electronic infrastructure.
WHO WILL BENEFIT?
The scope of the new e-Report System has been kept quite broad. The Ministry listed the groups that can benefit from the application as follows:
- Persons under 18 years of age
- Civil servants and public officials
- Self-employed and freelance professionals
These reports, which can be issued by physicians in all healthcare institutions authorized by the Ministry of Health, will be securely stored in the digital archive. Institutions or workplaces will be able to verify the authenticity of the reports submitted to them within seconds through the "e-Report Verification Service."
END OF PRINTED OUTPUT: PROCESSES WILL SPEED UP
With the new era, both the paperwork burden in hospitals and time loss will be reduced. For sick leave reports approved electronically, patients will no longer have to obtain a physical paper and take it to their workplaces. Thanks to digital integration, all approval processes will be completed much faster and more efficiently.
CURRENT SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE FOR SSI-INSURED WORKERS
The Ministry also shared an important exception concerning insured employees who receive temporary disability benefits. The statement included the following details: "Sick leave reports for 4/A insured workers entitled to temporary disability benefits under the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510, as well as optional 4/B insured individuals, will continue to be issued through the existing SSI system."
