ANNOUNCED ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMIn a post made on the Ministry's X social media account, it was stated that Fidan participated in the Syria meeting held in Riyadh with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates from the Arab League. "A TURNING POINT AND A HISTORICAL MOMENT"According to information obtained from sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan stated that the presence of the new Syrian administration's Foreign Minister Ahmed al-Sheybani at the Syria meeting held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a "turning point and a historical moment." "WE MUST ACT AS A BALANCING POWER"Emphasizing that the greatest responsibility lies with the regional countries in directing the developments in Syria in the right direction, Fidan underlined that the territorial integrity, unity, and sovereignty of Syria continue to be the fundamental principles upon which all their efforts are built. Fidan pointed out that the signs of normalization in Syria are strengthening every day, stating, "In this critical period, we must act as a balancing power by carefully balancing the expectations of the international community with the realities faced by the new administration in Syria." "IF SDG IS SINCERE, IT SHOULD ANNOUNCE ITS DISSOLUTION"Noting that a coordination mechanism or committees could be established to make efforts more effective, Fidan stated that priority sectors should be identified to provide more exemptions from sanctions in the upcoming period. Fidan emphasized that the protection of Syria's territorial integrity and unity should remain the main focus, saying, "If 'SDG' is sincere in its efforts to integrate with the central government, it should announce its dissolution." Recalling that the terrorist organization continues to pose a serious threat to the Arab majority in the east of the Euphrates and to plunder the natural resources that the Syrian people need the most, Fidan stated, "We can work together to strengthen the new administration's capacity to effectively combat ISIS. As Turkey, we are ready to do our part to facilitate the difficult path ahead for the Syrian people."
