The Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler, in the ongoing budget discussions at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), responded to a question from lawmakers regarding additional measures for security at the Syrian border by stating, "The measures we have taken since 2017 are still in effect. We have moved additional troops closer to the border."
Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler attended the discussions on the 2025 Central Government Budget and the 2023 Final Account Law Proposal in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and answered a deputy's question regarding Syria.
"ADDITIONAL TROOPS AT THE BORDER"
Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler responded to a question about whether additional measures have been taken at the Syrian border, stating, "The measures taken at the Syrian border, which have been in effect since 2017, are still valid. Additionally, our efforts to strengthen our borders and increase measures continue every year. Therefore, at the moment, we have only moved additional troops closer to the border. Besides that, we do not see any need to take further measures at this time."
