The Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin, responded to allegations that questions were leaked in the LGS exam. Minister Tekin stated, "The question booklet for the LGS exam was shared on social media at 11:57. This is true; it was published earlier than the time we wanted, but there is no situation that would jeopardize the security of the exam. Nevertheless, we have filed a criminal complaint against the person who made the publication."

The Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin, appeared as a guest on TGRT Haber and made statements regarding the agenda. Addressing many topics, from the Maarif Model that has started to be implemented to the High School Transition System (LGS) exam, Minister Tekin also criticized the CHP.

"MY TEACHER FRIENDS ARE GIVING POSITIVE FEEDBACK"

Making a statement about the Maarif Model implemented in education and saying that many reports have been prepared on this matter, Minister Tekin stated, "We will review the programs again in line with the monitoring and evaluation reports related to the curriculum. We will evaluate according to these reports. However, let me say this in general terms. Initially, the climate or atmosphere created by the opposition and their opposing unions has completely turned around according to my teacher friends. Our teacher friends, regardless of which political party or union membership they have, are really giving very positive feedback regarding the programs. This has made us very happy. Currently, in our teaching community, I was with my teacher friends again this Monday. We were with teacher friends on Tuesday as well. We hear these sentences very frequently; 'At first, we were very oppositional due to the guidance of the union we are members of, but now we are in a mode of gratitude.' This really makes us happy," he expressed.

"THERE IS NO SITUATION THAT WOULD RISK THE SECURITY OF THE EXAM"

Responding to allegations that questions were stolen in the LGS exam, Minister Tekin said, "Our question booklet for the LGS exam was released earlier than the time we desired, that is, earlier than the time we wanted it to be publicly announced. However, after the exam started and approximately one hour after the exam was completed, that is, about one hour after the verbal part of the exam was completed, it was shared on social media at 11:57. This is true; it was published earlier than the time we wanted, but there is no situation that would risk the security of the exam. Nevertheless, we have filed a necessary criminal complaint against the person who made that publication. I repeat, this is not a matter related to the security of the exam," he stated.

"NOW EVERY SCHOOL WILL DEFINE ITS OWN UNIFORM"

Speaking about the uniform requirement in schools, Tekin said, "Now every school will define its own uniform. We need to emphasize that there is no situation where we are directing to any brand or any store while doing this. What we want from our schools and school administrators is to simply define the clothing that children will wear. That is, they will say 'gray t-shirt, navy blue pants or skirt,' and they will define the material, whether it is wool or whatever. Our students will be able to buy and use clothes that meet those conditions, whether they are from their own province or another province. We have another decision there. We do not want our children to change their uniforms for each grade, meaning that from the day they start first grade for four years, we do not want the school administration to impose an additional burden or cost on the parents. In this way, we have also prevented school administrators or parent-teacher associations from directing parents to any sales unit or store. They will shop from wherever they want," he stated.

"A HEADSCARF THEY PUT ON DISPLAY DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING TO ME"

Speaking about the opposition's criticism of him and stating that the opposition is inconsistent, Minister Tekin made the following remarks:

"In 2007, there was a change made by the Nationalist Movement Party and the Justice and Development Party, which constitute the current People's Alliance, in Articles 10 and 42 of the Constitution. There is a constitutional amendment with the headline '411 hands raised to chaos.' I say that it is not about putting a headscarf on display in a way that is just for show. I ask one question. Let one member of the Republican People's Party say, 'We filed a cancellation case against this constitutional amendment in 2007.' Right? They took it to the Constitutional Court. Although constitutional amendments can only be monitored in terms of form, they were subject to cancellation cases in terms of content and were canceled upon the application of the Republican People's Party. I ask one question. I say, let a member of the Republican People's Party come out and say, 'In our application regarding that constitutional amendment, we made a mistake. What we said that day was wrong. Therefore, we made a mistake there.' Let them explain this. They do not say this. They should openly declare to the public that there will no longer be a cancellation case or such an application when there is such a constitutional amendment. Now, when they do not say this, a headscarf they put on display or a headscarf they visit does not mean anything to me. Because they say, look, they use this expression. They say, 'What will we do if tomorrow the teaching staff also covers their heads when you allow headscarves for students?' In their application to the Constitutional Court. Now, do you still think the same thing or do you think differently? It is not about having a headscarf-wearing member in a political party. These existed even before 2007."
